The Tpms Sensor
- Mar 26, 2018 -

The tpms sensor is a soc module that integrates a semiconductor pressure sensor, a temperature sensor, a digital signal processing unit, and a power manager. In order to strengthen the tire pressure detection function, there are many tpms sensor modules also added acceleration sensor, voltage detection, internal clock, watchdog, and with 12 bit adc, 4kb flash, 2kb rom, 128 b ram, 128 b eeprom and Other functions of the asic digital signal processing unit. These functional units enable the tpms sensor to not only detect tire pressure and tire temperature changes in real-time while the vehicle is running, but also enable instant movement of the car, automatic wake-up, and power saving. The power manager ensures the low power consumption of the system. Usually a lithium battery can be used for 3 to 5 years. Tpms' pressure sensors are designed and manufactured based on MEMS technology. They mainly include silicon integrated capacitive pressure sensors (such as freescale mpxy8020, mpxy8040) and silicon piezoresistive pressure sensors (such as ge novasensor npx1, npxc01746, infineon sensonor Sp12, sp12t, sp30). The silicon piezoresistive pressure sensor is also a soc module, which generally uses high-precision semiconductor resistance strain gauges to form a Wheatstone bridge as a force/electricity conversion measurement circuit. Its internal typical structure includes a pressure sensor integrated with silicon micromachining. Temperature sensor, accelerometer, battery voltage detection, internal clock, and a digital signal processing unit containing ADC, sample/hold, spi port, calibration, data management, and id code. The module can be configured using customer-specific software and its measurement accuracy can be Up to 0.01~0.03%fs. In addition, in order to facilitate the identification of the tpms receiver, each pressure sensor has 6-8 unique id codes.
